Mimi's Merch
Mimi discovered bum warmers a year ago and was instantly hooked. What began as making skirts for herself quickly grew into a full-blown passion, with the goal of creating comfortable, stylish skirts that fit every body type. From cozy winter bum warmers to swooping jersey summer skirts designed for active lifestyles like gardening, Mimi sews each piece with care on her trusty vintage Singer—forward, backward, solid. Beyond fashion, her mission is rooted in compassion: a portion of every purchase goes toward supporting people in need, particularly the unhoused.
Born on a ranch west of Gardner, Colorado, Mimi grew up in Walsenburg, where she graduated from Walsenburg High School. She fondly remembers a vibrant community filled with thriving local businesses, friendly school rivalries, and a marching band that once performed for the Denver Broncos. After raising five children and building a career in education as a teacher, administrator, and mentor, Mimi retired and returned to her creative roots.
Sewing—rekindled during the pandemic while making masks—has become her joyful new mission. When she’s not at her machine, she loves spending time with her husband, kids, and grandkids. Though she lives in Denver now, Mimi’s heart will always belong to the Spanish Peaks—home.
