Designs By Dustbunny

Designs by Dustbunny was born out of both resilience and creativity. Seven years ago, during her treatment for breast cancer, the founder discovered a new passion while upcycling her collection of denim jackets. On her good days between chemo and radiation, she would sit at her sewing machine, transforming ordinary denim into vibrant, one-of-a-kind creations. Before long, she had made so many jackets that she began giving them away as gifts. Encouragement from family and friends inspired her to take the leap into selling her designs.

Her logo holds a deeply personal meaning as well—it was inspired by a tattoo of a pig, affectionately named “Dust Bunny,” gifted by her grandson. Each jacket she creates is unique, carrying its own personality, and she names every piece individually. One of her favorite projects was a special request from her granddaughter: a mash-up between a tie-dyed hoodie and a denim jacket, which turned into a beautiful, personalized statement piece.

Now, through the Walsenburg Mercantile, Designs by Dustbunny has found the perfect space to share these wearable works of art with a wider audience. Each jacket tells a story of creativity, strength, and individuality.
